Samsung Releases One UI 9 Beta to Galaxy S26 in 6 Countries

May 13 marked Samsung’s first One UI 9 beta build for the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, with the Android 17-based software still limited to beta users as of May 23.
6 countries — Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the US — have access to the program, while markets such as Nigeria are excluded from official enrollment.
One UI 9 largely refines One UI 8.5 rather than overhauling it, adding features such as Samsung Notes Tape, Text Spotlight, a redesigned Quick Panel, DeX improvements and new high-risk app warnings.
One UI 8.5 remains Samsung’s main stable release, having started rolling out to older devices on May 6 after debuting on the S26 line in February with major visual and AI changes.
July 22 is the reported target for the stable One UI 9 debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, though Samsung has not officially confirmed that launch date.
