Peter Murrell pleaded guilty to embezzling £400,310.65 from the Scottish National Party between 2010 and 2023 and was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on June 23.
Court documents said the former SNP chief executive diverted party money to buy cars, a motorhome and luxury goods from brands including Estee Lauder and Harrods.
Nicola Sturgeon, Murrell's former wife and ex-SNP leader, said she had no knowledge of the theft and had been misled; she was cleared of wrongdoing in March last year.
