Kate Mansi said she made the “very difficult” decision to leave General Hospital after three years as Kristina Corinthos-Davis, with the show set to address the character’s plans in Tuesday’s episode.
New projects and a need for travel flexibility drove the exit, she said, as her husband Matt McInnis produces a series filming mainly abroad while she continues developing work in Los Angeles.
ABC has no plans to recast Kristina, and executive producer Frank Valentini said the door remains open after backing Mansi’s departure.
Mansi joined the soap in 2023 after an Emmy-winning run on Days of Our Lives and earned a 2025 Daytime Emmy nomination for Kristina’s surrogate-pregnancy storyline.
