IO Interactive published the opening 13 minutes of 007 First Light after unauthorized footage surfaced online from copies that reached some players early.
The studio had first removed the leaked video with a copyright notice, then posted the sequence itself "as intended on day one" while warning viewers about spoilers.
The footage shows Bond's helicopter being shot down, his plunge into the ocean, and an opening escape through enemy lines built around stealth-heavy gameplay.
IO also used the release to push pre-orders with a free deluxe upgrade and 24-hour early access ahead of the game's 27 May 2026 launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The preview lands as IO embraces debate over its younger Bond—played by Patrick Gibson—whose story follows his rise from soldier to 00 agent.
