  • More than 18,000 50-ounce units of Ghirardelli Perfectly Premium Frappe Mix Frozen Hot Cocoa were recalled after the FDA said they may contain salmonella-tainted ingredients.
  • Six affected lots carry best-by dates from May 31, 2027, through Sept. 30, 2027, and the action expands an earlier recall involving other products.
  • Consumers were told not to drink the mix and to discard it or return it for a refund.
  • Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and can be especially dangerous for young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.
