As of May 2, Ukraine's 412th Nemesis Brigade said it had hit or destroyed 83 Russian air-defense assets, from Tor and Buk systems to S-300 radar components, using mid-range drones.
The brigade said the drones can strike targets up to 200 kilometers away, often flying low enough to evade Soviet-designed radars and forcing Russia to spend scarce missiles or pull systems deeper into the rear.
Roughly one in three sorties ends in an effective hit, according to deputy commander Pavlo Laktionov, while even unsuccessful penetrations still pressure Russian defenses and expose air-defense responses for follow-on strikes.
Laktionov said the main bottleneck is drone supply rather than pilots, and predicted longer-range, more autonomous variants within a year that could push attacks farther behind Russian lines.
He argued the systems are already reshaping the war by stretching Russian logistics, dispersing command posts and fuel depots, and slowing offensives rather than replacing weapons such as HIMARS.
