George Russell Takes Canadian GP Pole in 1:12.965 as Mercedes Lands Front-Row Lockout

George Russell secured pole for the Canadian Grand Prix with a 1:12.965 lap, edging Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli by 0.068 seconds.
Mercedes underlined its pace after Antonelli had topped the earlier session at 1:13.402, while Russell was second before improving in Q3.
Lando Norris qualified third for McLaren in 1:13.280, ahead of Oscar Piastri, with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc fifth and sixth.
Russell also won the 23-lap sprint, finishing 1.272 seconds ahead of Norris and 1.843 seconds clear of Antonelli, reinforcing Mercedes’ strong weekend in Montreal.
