Hyperliquid and AI-linked tokens are set to lead the next altcoin rally, Michael van de Poppe said, with HYPE already hitting a record after two U.S. ETFs launched.
European traders have been rotating into Hyperliquid because perpetual futures remain hard to access on many regulated venues, while its expansion into tokenized stocks, commodities and pre-IPO assets is boosting momentum.
AI tokens still look undervalued versus traditional AI companies, he said, highlighting NEAR’s revenue path from about $10 million in 2025 to as much as $100 million this year and Bittensor’s adoption-driven upside.
Solana remains his stronger long-term bet even as Hyperliquid wins near term, because liquidity is concentrating in a few fast-growing protocols and competition could eventually erode Hyperliquid’s dominance.
Macro conditions still threaten the trade: bitcoin has slid to about $74,300, spot U.S. bitcoin ETFs have lost more than $2.26 billion in two weeks, and higher bond yields are draining risk appetite.
