Robert Brookes, a Destiny 2 senior narrative designer from 2020 to 2024, said a Xivu Arath campaign and raid were pitched "many times" for Destiny 2.
The comment surfaced after reports that Destiny 3 is not in development, amplifying fan frustration over one of the series' biggest unresolved villains.
Xivu Arath has been built up for years through lore, seasons and Episode Heresy teases, but never received the full expansion treatment given to Oryx, Savathun or the Witness.
June 9, 2026 is now the key date for Bungie: Destiny 2's final live-service update, Monument of Triumph, arrives then, after which regular content support ends.
