Nokia Partners Vodafone Idea to Upgrade India 4G and 5G Backhaul Network

Nokia said it will modernize Vodafone Idea’s IP backhaul network in India, extending capacity across core, aggregation and access layers for 4G and 5G traffic.
The March 2025 partnership will use Nokia’s IP/MPLS gear, including its 7750 SR and 7250 IXR platforms, to build a more scalable and higher-capacity transport network.
Vodafone Idea is pursuing the upgrade to handle rising data demand and support next-generation digital services on a future-proof infrastructure.
The deal comes as the global IP/MPLS market is projected to reach $51.62 billion by 2030, driven by 5G transport, cloud interconnectivity and demand for low-latency WAN networks.
