BAAPS said breast reductions and implant removals combined exceeded breast enlargements in the UK for the first time in 2025, marking a notable shift in cosmetic breast surgery demand.
An 8% drop in enlargements helped drive the crossover, with surgeons and analysts pointing to demand for more natural silhouettes, active lifestyles and smaller bodies linked partly to weight-loss drugs.
Women interviewed said reductions were driven less by appearance than by pain, restricted exercise, sensory distress and unwanted sexual attention; one patient had 3kg removed, another 4.2kg.
