Willy Medina, 18, was arrested Friday and arraigned on one felony assault count in the May 19 stabbing at Narragansett Town Beach.
Three people suffered minor stab wounds when officers responded to reports of violence as hundreds of teenagers crowded the beach and then fled in panic.
Narragansett police have not said how investigators linked Medina to the attack, and authorities have disclosed no motive.
Medina was already out on bail in a separate case alleging weapons and gun-related offenses, including carrying a pistol without a license.
The stabbing unfolded amid broader disorder at the beach; two other adults were arrested on simple assault, resisting arrest and obstruction charges that police said were unrelated.
