George Russell secured Sprint Qualifying at Montreal after Mercedes had already set the pace in Free Practice 1, where Kimi Antonelli led with a 1:13.402 and Russell followed 0.142 seconds behind.
Mercedes locked out the top two in Sprint Qualifying as Antonelli took second, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in third and fourth.
Ferrari also placed both cars in the top six, with Lewis Hamilton fifth and Charles Leclerc sixth, while Max Verstappen was seventh for Red Bull.
The Canadian Grand Prix is one of six Sprint weekends on the 2026 calendar, with the Sprint on Saturday before qualifying later that day and the race on Sunday.
