Most Red Arrows displays this year will use seven aircraft instead of nine, with the RAF limiting flying hours to preserve its ageing Hawk T1 fleet.
Two exceptions remain on the schedule: a nine-jet flypast for King Charles III's birthday in June and another in July tied to US 250th independence celebrations.
The Hawk T1s, flown by the team since 1980, are due to retire in 2030, and the RAF said the reduction will help manage scarce spare parts and prepare for a future aircraft transition.
At least 40 displays are planned for 2026, and the RAF said the team will continue appearances across the UK, mainland Europe and farther afield.
The shift comes as the replacement debate remains unresolved after UK startup Aeralis entered administration last week; the MoD says the fast-jet trainer programme is still ongoing.
