Fernando Alonso told Aston Martin "sorry, lock up" over team radio, then safely climbed out and headed back to the garage during Canadian Grand Prix practice.
P14 was Alonso's position at the time, suggesting the interruption cut short a session in which he had not yet broken into the top 10.
Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll, Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas were also reported in trouble, pointing to a difficult practice period for several drivers.
