RIAT organizers scrapped the July 17-19 air show at RAF Fairford, saying uncertainty over access to the base made the 2026 event impossible to stage.
RAF Fairford’s availability has been clouded by the Middle East crisis and US Air Force activity tied to defensive operations in Iran, after discussions with both the RAF and USAF.
More than 70,000 tickets had already been sold; buyers can claim full refunds or roll bookings into the 2027 edition.
RAF Fairford had also been due to host aircraft from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the US, underscoring the show’s role as a major military aviation gathering.
The cancellation follows Britain’s March approval for the US to use Fairford for specific operations related to Iran, with reports that up to 15 B-1B and B-52 bombers were later stationed there.
