Albert Itzkowitz, 75, was found dead near the Kissena Lake shoreline just before 5 p.m. Monday, and NYPD said Thursday his death was ruled a homicide.
Police said Itzkowitz suffered multiple gunshot wounds; no arrests have been made, and investigators have not said how long his body had been there before it was discovered.
Crime Stoppers offered up to $3,500 for information in the killing of Itzkowitz, identified by local reports as the former owner of G&I Bakery on Main Street.
Queens City Council member James Gennaro called the killing an "intolerable tragedy" and said NYPD leadership told him all possible resources were being deployed to find the perpetrator.
