9 a.m. on Oct. 14, 2026 is when Wegmans says its new Ballantyne store in Charlotte will open to the public.
The 110,000-square-foot site was still under construction as of May 21, keeping the project on the fall 2026 timeline first outlined when Wegmans and Northwood Investors announced it in April 2024.
Around 450 jobs are expected to come with the store, with Wegmans saying most hires will be local and new to the company across roles including chefs, customer service and entry-level management.
The Ballantyne location will be Wegmans' first in the Charlotte area and is set to include the chain's first outdoor area with a play field and seating, alongside its usual prepared foods and grocery departments.
