17 Audacy Stations Switch to ABC News 1 Day Before CBS Radio Shutdown

WBBM-AM 780 in Chicago and 16 other Audacy-owned CBS News Radio affiliates moved to ABC News on Thursday, replacing CBS top-of-the-hour newscasts and breaking-news coverage a day before the network ends.
Audacy made the early switch to ensure a smooth on-air transition before CBS News Radio shuts down at midnight Friday after nearly 100 years, a closure CBS announced in March.
The change does not affect local newsroom staffing or local programming, and Audacy's existing ABC affiliates — including 1010 WINS in New York and KYW in Philadelphia — remain unchanged.
WBBM's move ends a 95-year CBS Radio affiliation as the network, which still served about 700 stations, disappears under pressure from economic conditions and a changing media landscape.
