A five-month closure of 120th Street between Dillon Road and Rock Creek Circle's south entrance starts at 7 a.m. Tuesday, shutting a key stretch in Boulder and Broomfield counties for a full rebuild.
Crews will completely remove and reconstruct the road to widen it, add paved shoulders and install a left-turn lane from Rock Creek Circle's north exit onto 120th Street.
The project also flattens hills to cut truck noise and remove blind spots, while making safety upgrades to the bridge over the Northwest Parkway in Broomfield.
Officials say the overhaul is aimed at improving safety and roadside pull-off space on the Lafayette-area corridor once the closure ends.
