A memorial service for Kira Meyer is scheduled for Friday, May 22, in Pretoria, her mother Angelique said Tuesday.
Meyer, 12, died less than two weeks after a May 10 electric scooter accident left her with a brain injury and in a coma at Milpark Hospital.
Doctors declared her brain dead on May 16 after six days in intensive care, and her mother said her lungs had also failed while legal and medical procedures continued.
Her brother thanked supporters on May 18, and the South African Figure Skating Association called Meyer a cherished member of its skating community.
