Massena Raids Shut 3 Illegal Dispensaries, Seizing 1,000 Pounds of Marijuana and 20 Firearms

Three unlicensed Massena dispensaries were shut on May 20 after federal and local raids seized more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana and THC products, 40 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, and 20 illegal firearms.
Civil forfeiture complaints say Uncle Crandy’s, Vape Bank/All the Smoke Massena, and Famous A’s sold marijuana without New York licenses, including products barred under state law.
Investigators said Famous A’s sold THC products resembling candy bars, Uncle Crandy’s marketed gummies with more than 10 times the legal limit, and Vape Bank sold marijuana with cartoon labels.
Uncle Crandy’s and Famous A’s also allegedly sold marijuana to an underage law enforcement officer, with officials saying the businesses were targeted after numerous illegal sales.
U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III called the operation an unprecedented multiagency effort and warned that federal, state, and local authorities are aligned to shut down similar operations in the region.
