Harry Styles made a surprise appearance at London’s 71st Ivor Novello Awards and told the audience he lost his virginity to the intro of Radiohead’s “Talk Show Host.”
The remark came during a speech honoring Thom Yorke, who received the Academy Fellowship; Styles called Radiohead his favorite band and said Yorke’s work shaped his view of art.
Styles also linked Yorke’s influence to his own catalog, saying “Without ‘Exit Music’ there would be no ‘Watermelon Sugar,’” and recalled first meeting Yorke on a street in Rome.
Yorke joined George Michael among this year’s Fellowship honorees, while other Ivors winners included Sam Fender, Rosalía, CMAT, Lily Allen, Lola Young and Kano.
The appearance came amid Styles’ “Together, Together” tour, which reaches London next month for a record 12 nights at Wembley Stadium.
