CNN’s Wednesday interview put Spencer Pratt’s mayoral bid back in focus after he said Jesus Christ is his political role model and named “truth” as the word that separates him from rivals.
Pratt, a Republican and former “The Hills” star, said he has no modern political role models because he is “not a politician” and wants to be “a fighter for the people.”
The challenge to Mayor Karen Bass grew out of the January 2025 Pacific Palisades wildfire that destroyed Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home, with Pratt citing Bass’ handling of the aftermath.
June 2 is the primary date, and if no candidate clears 50%, the top two advance to a November runoff in a city that has not elected a Republican mayor since 2001.
