March 26, 2027 is now the release date for Lionsgate's supernatural revenge thriller "Day Drinker," starring Johnny Depp, in a slot previously reserved for the first "The Resurrection Of The Christ" installment.
The move follows Lionsgate's decision to push "The Resurrection Of The Christ, Part Two" back by a year to May 2028, reshuffling the studio's spring release calendar.
"Day Drinker" stars Madelyn Cline as a private-yacht bartender who crosses paths with Depp's mysterious guest and Penélope Cruz's criminal figure in a story directed by Marc Webb and written by Zach Dean.
The film marks Depp and Cruz's fourth movie together and is produced by Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, the producers behind Lionsgate's "John Wick" franchise, alongside Adam Kolbrenner, Dean and Nathan Kahane.
Can Depp and Cruz's fourth collaboration launch a new supernatural franchise for the studio behind *John Wick*?
Is *Day Drinker* a calculated blockbuster for Lionsgate or a high-stakes gamble on its A-list cast and revenge plot?
