Bandai Namco and Game Studio released a seven-minute gameplay systems trailer for Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online, outlining how players will explore Aincrad, fight monsters and prepare for boss battles.
Six weapon types anchor combat—swords, two-handed axes, daggers, rapiers, two-handed swords and maces—while players must manage HP, stamina and SP, use consumables and bring one partner per quest for support skills.
The trailer also highlights avatar customization, map progression through checkpoints and Base Towns where players can upgrade weapons, buy goods and boost stats.
Echoes of Aincrad is scheduled for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam on July 9 in Japan and July 10 worldwide.
