Space Marine 2 Drops Purgation Update 13 With New PvE Mission as Free Trial Starts

Yes. For newcomers, this is about as strong an entry point as *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* has had. The timing matters. The limited free trial running from May 21 to May 25 lets new players sample the opening campaign, three PvE Operations, and all PvP modes without buying in. That removes the biggest barrier: whether the game’s heavy, co-op-focused combat and Warhammer tone actually click for you. The update itself also makes the game easier to recommend. The free “Purgation Update” adds a new PvE Operation in the Kadaku swamps, a major Siege Mode overhaul with new progression systems and bosses, a new Bolt Carbine sidearm, and a Battle-Barge practice area where players can test weapons and builds. Expanded customization and loadout tools also help new players learn the game faster and tailor classes more easily. Just as important, Patch 13 is not only content. It includes balance changes, PvP tweaks, firearm damage reworks, bug fixes, crash fixes, performance improvements, and stability upgrades. Patch 13 is now live on PS5, Xbox Series and PC, adding the Purgation PvE Operation, a revamped Siege Mode and the Bolt Carbine Sidearm.
