Clicks told pre-order customers the BlackBerry-style Communicator will launch with Android 17 and a 4,450 mAh battery, upgrading an earlier 4,000 mAh specification.
Android 17 is still in beta on Pixel and Galaxy devices, but Clicks expects the phone to ship in Q4, after Google's latest Android release is broadly available.
The update follows Clicks's April roadmap, which said software details would start arriving in May and working units would be shown from June.
Clicks still plans to deliver the $499 phone before year-end; reservations remain open with a $199 deposit.
