Seattle-based Emerald Wealth Management moved about $815 million in client assets to LPL Financial’s broker-dealer and RIA platform after leaving Northwestern Mutual.
LPL said Emerald chose its technology, open-architecture tools and back-office support to better serve tech professionals and clients nearing or in retirement.
Founder Darren Trautmann leads the team, which markets itself as a "household CFO" coordinating investment, tax and estate planning with outside professionals.
The addition extends LPL’s advisor-recruitment push; the firm says it supports more than 32,000 advisors and roughly $2.3 trillion in assets.
