Willow Nightingale surrendered the TBS Championship on AEW "Dynamite," saying a right shoulder injury suffered in her latest defense against Red Velvet left her unable to wrestle at Double or Nothing.
The injury also forced Nightingale out of the Owen Hart Cup, ending plans for a home-state appearance in New York and a scheduled tournament matchup with Alex Windsor.
Mina Shirakawa will replace Nightingale against Athena in the first round, while Windsor now draws a wild-card opponent.
Nightingale said she was proud of serving as the face of TBS through 10 title defenses and vowed to return, though no timetable was given.
