San Antonio lost De’Aaron Fox before tipoff and Dylan Harper in the third quarter of Game 2, leaving its backcourt uncertain for Friday’s return home.
Fox’s right ankle was severe enough that coach Mitch Johnson said he would not be trying to play in the regular season, and the Spurs expect game-time decisions on him for the rest of the playoffs.
Harper, who started in Fox’s place, exited after two awkward falls about a minute apart and was ruled out with a leg injury; Johnson had no postgame update.
Oklahoma City capitalized to win 122-113 and even the Western Conference finals at 1-1 after San Antonio had taken Game 1.
The injuries hit two key contributors: Fox averaged 18.6 points in the regular season, while Harper had 24 points, 11 rebounds and a team playoff-record seven steals in the opener.
