Spotify said its experimental Studio desktop app will roll out in the coming weeks to users 18 and older in more than 20 regions, generating podcast episodes from prompts and saving them to users’ libraries.
With user permission, Studio can pull from listening history plus tools such as email, calendars and notes, then research topics, organize information, browse the web and complete tasks to build tailored audio briefings.
Spotify pitched uses including daily briefs, email summaries and road-trip mixes, framing the product as a more active audio assistant rather than a standard podcast tool.
NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews and Huxe already offer related AI audio summaries, but Spotify’s version appears designed to draw more freely on personal data and broader web context.
