USTelecom’s 2025 Broadband Pricing Index said U.S. home internet prices fell for an 11th straight year, extending a decade-long trend of lower costs and faster service.
Prices for the most popular broadband tiers are down 44% since 2014, while plans in the 100–249 Mbps range dropped 17.2% in real terms in 2025 and nearly 40% over two years.
Average download speeds for the most popular plans have risen 145% since 2014, and average upload speeds are up about 95%, with price declines recorded across every measured speed tier.
USTelecom attributed the gains to broadband competition and billions of dollars in annual private network investment, contrasting them with rising household costs such as housing, food and electricity.
