Namibia Ranks 94th Globally in 2026 Startup Index as Ecosystem Grows 8.2%

Namibia placed 94th worldwide and 10th in Africa in StartupBlink’s 2026 index, while holding its spot as southern Africa’s No. 2 startup ecosystem behind South Africa.
An 8.2% ecosystem growth rate was not enough to prevent a nine-place global slide from 85th in 2025, as rival startup hubs expanded faster.
Windhoek fell 13 places to 525th globally despite 20.3% growth, underscoring the tougher competitive landscape measured by startup activity, ecosystem quality and business conditions.
Namibia still ranked fourth in Africa for ecosystem attractiveness, and officials said the startup support network has expanded to 18 organizations from five in 2024.
