Harvard and MIT police are searching for a man accused of attacking a woman at a Harvard dorm Tuesday evening and later appearing at an MIT residence hall.
At 5:41 p.m., the man allegedly came up behind the woman, covered her mouth and tried to force her into her room, but bystanders intervened and he fled.
MIT said a man matching the suspect's description tailgated into a dorm through a side entrance at 5:45 p.m. and left at 5:59 p.m., according to security video.
Police described the suspect as a white male, about 5-foot-9 with a thin build, wearing a white T-shirt and dark shorts; Harvard added patrols and urged students to watch for tailgaters.
