Twiggs County deputies charged Eagles defensive end Nolan Smith with reckless driving and speeding after stopping his Lamborghini at 136 mph in a 70-mph zone Friday night.
Smith posted bond later that night and was released after cooperating with deputies, who said the driver followed them to the sheriff’s office instead of having the car towed.
The sheriff’s office described the stop on Facebook without naming Smith, while ESPN identified him as the driver involved.
Philadelphia has not commented as of Thursday morning, and the case surfaced days before the Eagles begin organized team activities on May 26.
