Tucson authorities said a bone found near Nancy Guthrie’s home is about 750 years older than her February disappearance and will be handled as a prehistoric anthropological matter.
The clarification came after livestreamer Alec Wysopal spotted the bone on a dry river bank a few miles from the home, called 911 and broadcast the find to thousands of YouTube viewers.
That discovery quickly fueled online speculation that the missing 84-year-old’s case had broken open, but police said at the scene it was not a criminal investigation.
