Ukraine is now making more than 1,000 cheap interceptor drones a day, a key part of a layered air-defense push after Russia fired 1,500 drones and 56 missiles at the country within 48 hours.
Zelensky said Ukrainian defenses intercepted 94% of long-range drones and 73% of missiles in the latest assault, up from a 55% nationwide drone kill rate reported for May 14, 2025.
A $1,000 3D-printed P1-SUN interceptor can fly faster than 300 km/h and is designed to destroy Shahed attack drones that cost about $50,000 each; Ukraine's air force said such systems downed more than 30,000 Russian drones in March.
Sky Map software ties together radars, sensors, video feeds and AI, while 25 private companies have joined the network, adding remotely operated guns and other defenses that have already shot down dozens of drones.
