Thirteen new channels are now live on Plex’s free tier, expanding its ad-supported lineup across drama, classic films, science, gardening, cooking, lifestyle and LGBTQ+ cinema.
The rollout deepens Plex’s push to make one app a no-subscription alternative to fragmented streaming services, with the new channels available on smart TVs, phones, streaming sticks and web browsers.
WBtv supplies several of the additions, including Generation Drama, Classic Cinema, Survive or Die, Medical Incredible, Space & Beyond and Ghosts Are Real, alongside channels such as Popular Science and Garden by Monty Don.
Plex said the expansion builds on its mix of personal media libraries and free streaming, aiming to keep users inside a broader entertainment hub as cost-conscious viewers look to consolidate services.
