A 35-year-old photographer was arrested Wednesday after Sydney police raided his western suburbs home and charged him with stealing camera gear from Bondi shooting victim Peter Meagher.
Police allege the accused, who was also working as a photographer at the Hanukkah event, took Meagher's equipment after the 14 December attack and pawned it days later.
Meagher, a retired police officer and photographer, was among 15 people killed when two gunmen allegedly opened fire on the crowd; the accused was granted strict conditional bail and will appear in court next month.
The case emerged alongside separate charges against two brothers of Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed, who allegedly threatened him and demanded AU$100,000 each from the more than AU$2.5 million donated after he was shot stopping one gunman.
