Less than two weeks before California’s June 2 primary, Xavier Becerra campaigned in Los Angeles with Rep. Jasmine Crockett and Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson as his standing in the governor’s race improves.
Becerra’s rise has accelerated since Eric Swalwell dropped out just over a month ago, and USC professor Christina Bellantoni said Tom Steyer’s increasingly negative attacks suggest Becerra is now seen as a leading threat.

Bellantoni said that consolidation case may be too late because Trump endorsed Hilton more than a month ago and ballots have already been cast for Bianco, limiting any late shift before the primary.
