Pine Tree Results, a fundraising group aligned with Susan Collins, unveiled a website cataloging seven alleged “red flags” tied to Democratic Senate challenger Graham Platner as Maine’s race enters its final six months.
The site highlights Platner’s past comments and conduct, including remarks about rape victims, a removed Nazi tattoo, anti-police comments, alleged sympathy for terrorists, comments on communism and statements described as bigoted.
Platner’s campaign did not immediately respond, though he said last month the group had spent $2 million on attack ads funded by out-of-state billionaires and argued the scrutiny shows his campaign has momentum.
Pine Tree Results, founded in January 2025, has built a largely untapped $12.7 million war chest for a contest Democrats see as a pickup chance despite Collins’ moderate brand and 51%-42.4% reelection win in 2020.
If both clear next month’s primaries, Collins and Platner will meet in the Nov. 3 general election for a key Republican-held Senate seat.
