A California court sentenced Angel Emilio Rodriguez-Marroquin to 50 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child sexual abuse material involving his 8-year-old niece and 8-year-old nephew.
DHS said the victims included his niece with special needs and that the material showed Rodriguez-Marroquin assaulting both children.
Federal authorities arrested Rodriguez-Marroquin on Nov. 22, 2025, on child pornography charges, and U.S. officials said he is also under investigation in Guatemala for child exploitation.
DHS said the Guatemalan citizen entered the U.S. illegally in 2024 and was released, using the case to renew Trump administration criticism of Biden-era border policies.
