Emily Mae Smith, 20, died after an older-model black Cadillac Escalade struck her near SUNY Potsdam around 3:37 a.m. Saturday and fled the scene, police said.
Jakob D. Krise, 18, was found driving the suspected vehicle about four hours later on U.S. Route 11 and was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, zero-tolerance DWI and driving across hazard markings.
