Bolivia's Paz Reshuffles Cabinet as 40+ Blockades Choke La Paz

Rodrigo Paz said he will overhaul his cabinet and set up a social and economic council as shortages of food, fuel and medicine deepen in Bolivia's major cities.
La Paz has been hit especially hard by highway blockades, with the president saying the reshuffle is meant to bring his government "closer" to the population and widen participation in decision-making.
The unrest has entered a second week, with more than 40 road blockades reported and four deaths linked to protests against subsidy cuts, fuel shortages and broader economic distress.
The crisis has already spilled beyond domestic politics: Bolivia earlier expelled Colombia's ambassador after President Gustavo Petro described the upheaval as a "popular insurrection."
