Six actors — Harrison Ford, Glen Powell, Riz Ahmed, Owen Wilson, Zach Braff and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II — used THR’s annual Comedy Actor Emmy Roundtable to swap stories about fame, fan encounters and career pressure.
Ford, 83, said TV has changed how audiences approach him through Shrinking, with fans now often just saying they like the show, while he described acting as a service job that “sells stories.”
Powell and Ahmed detailed the darker edge of visibility, from a fan who has “eaten” Powell’s face in photos for 80 days to Ahmed being chased over his signature and repeatedly mistaken for Dev Patel.
The group repeatedly returned to the same lesson: preparation and detachment matter. Powell said discipline keeps impostor syndrome at bay, while Ford argued actors must care deeply, then let go of outcome and box-office noise.
The roundtable also served as an Emmy-season showcase for current projects including Shrinking, Chad Powers, Bait and Wonder Man, framing comedy performances through the broader strain of modern celebrity.

After citing burnout, how will Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's new focus on well-being shape his role in Tarantino's anticipated sequel this August?
As fan culture evolves, can AI tools genuinely deepen audience connections or will they just create a new form of artificial celebrity engagement?
