Barilla will expand its Avon, New York, plant through a two-phase $145 million project that adds more than 90 jobs in Livingston County, with phase one due by March 2028.
The first phase includes a new 52,000-square-foot production building with one production line and three packaging lines, plus a separate warehouse; the added space can support a second production line later.
Barilla said the investment is driven by continued U.S. demand growth and will strengthen its North American supply chain while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 3,000 tons a year.
New York state is backing the project with up to $2.75 million in Excelsior Jobs tax credits tied to hiring commitments, while the power authority and local utility and development agencies are also involved.
The Avon site, operating since 2007 and currently employing about 145 people, was originally launched with a $75 million investment announced in 2006.
