  • Barilla will expand its Avon, New York, plant through a two-phase $145 million project that adds more than 90 jobs in Livingston County, with phase one due by March 2028.
  • The first phase includes a new 52,000-square-foot production building with one production line and three packaging lines, plus a separate warehouse; the added space can support a second production line later.
  • Barilla said the investment is driven by continued U.S. demand growth and will strengthen its North American supply chain while cutting carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 3,000 tons a year.
  • New York state is backing the project with up to $2.75 million in Excelsior Jobs tax credits tied to hiring commitments, while the power authority and local utility and development agencies are also involved.
  • The Avon site, operating since 2007 and currently employing about 145 people, was originally launched with a $75 million investment announced in 2006.
