110 lawmakers backed a preliminary bill to dissolve Israel’s parliament, moving the country closer to a snap election that could come weeks before the October 27 deadline.
The bill was submitted by Netanyahu’s own coalition after an ultra-Orthodox ally said he failed to deliver a law exempting its community from mandatory military service.
The measure still needs committee work and final Knesset approval, including setting an election date, a process that could take weeks and may point to a September vote.
