Craig and Lindsay Foreman have resumed a hunger strike in Iran’s Evin prison, their family said, escalating a campaign for release after the British couple were jailed on espionage charges they deny.
12 days into his strike, Craig Foreman began refusing food after the pair’s phone access was cut in early May; Lindsay, 53, briefly paused her protest when told she could contact family, then restarted it.
10 years is the sentence the couple received in February after being arrested in January last year while crossing Iran on a global motorbike trip, a case UK officials have called appalling, unjustified and an injustice.
500 days after their detention began, supporters plan a motorbike ride from Kensington Palace to Parliament Square and a Downing Street petition delivery, while Lindsay’s son warned the protest is becoming a medical emergency.
