May 27 is the new reopening date for The Book of Mormon at Broadway's O'Neill Theatre, one week later than the previously announced May 21 return.
Repairs from the May 4 fire took longer than expected over the weekend, ATG Entertainment said, even after initially encouraging progress in restoring the theater.
The blaze started in the spotlight room between the fourth and fifth floors and spread to the roof, leaving holes overhead and causing heavy fire, water and smoke damage, according to FDNY.
The Department of Buildings had issued a vacate order after the fire, then partially lifted it on May 13 to allow public spaces to reopen while the spotlight room remained off-limits.
